Action Plan For 2018

A New Year is a good time to start with a clean slate. All that came before is in the past. It is so last year! Now it is time to develop an action plan for 2018. Some might call these “resolutions.” That is a popular New Year’s Eve tradition but many of those resolutions don’t seem to last deep into the year. That’s why you’ll see a lot of crowded gyms in January and February but not so much in April and May. An action plan sets specific goals you can achieve to improve your quality of life. These goals and be internal and external. Let’s stipulate that getting into shape is a number one priority. What else can be on your action plan?

Stop Being Late

Are you constantly running late for every appointment? Do your friends expect you to show up late to every outing? That is not a good reputation to earn. Scrambling to get out of the house in the morning could be tied to the dreaded snooze button. Every time you hit that button, you lose ten minutes of productive time you could be getting ready for work. When you get ready to go out with friends, you could find yourself distracted by things around the house or checking in with social media.

Being on time is all about being focused. You know how long it takes to get ready. Take that time and add fifteen minutes. So, if it takes you 30 minutes from shower to out the door, then start 45 minutes earlier. Add those 15 minutes to your travel time, too. Showing up early is never a problem. It allows you to relax and get centered on the task before you.

Get More Quality Sleep

It might seem like the opposite advice to avoid the snooze button but still strive to get more quality sleep. The operative word here is “quality.” That ten-minute snooze isn’t doing you any favors. Instead, direct your efforts to the night before when you head off to bed. At least an hour before bedtime, you should be unplugging from the word. Sign off until the next day. Once in bed, you only mission should be good sleep. That means no TV. Falling asleep with the television on is going to disrupt your sleep patterns. And if you’re constantly tossing and turning, it might be the fault of your mattress. If it is over eight years old, then it is time to replace it.

Drink More Water

This is probably the easiest thing you can put on your action plan and yet it is the one thing we all get wrong. Instead of waiting until you get thirsty, try to have a glass or bottle of water always by your side. Drink on the way to work, on the way home and at your desk. And the first thing you should have in the morning is a cool glass of water.

Get Rid of Clutter

Just as you shouldn’t move into a new home with old junk, you also shouldn’t bring that junk into the New Year. As you were getting your home ready for the holidays, you probably noticed a lot of things you could get rid of. After Christmas, there might be a lot of new items brought into the home. That means making room by tossing out the outdated and unused stuff in your home. To get this goal accomplished, you only need to call Junk Works. They’re the junk hauling pros who can quickly sweep through your home clearing out rubbish room by room. Make getting rid of junk around your house part of your 2018 action plan with help from Junk Works.
